Edwin Roa - Owner / Instructor

Edwin is a native of Bogota, Colombia who moved to the US in 1995. He started his career as a dancer in 1997 and has trained in multiple dance disciplines including Ballet and Modern. Edwin became an independent dance instructor in 2003. His interest in music, cultures, and the perspectives of partner dance have encouraged him to experiment and eventually develop a method of teaching social partner dance that he now calls Zabor.

Lynda Buechel - Instructor

Lynda began dancing when she was seven years old, and grew up dancing ballet, tap, and jazz. She was introduced to partner dancing in 2008 and became an instructor in 2018.

Lynda is a professionally certified dance instructor with well-rounded experience teaching various styles of ballroom dancing. She holds a special place in her heart for American Smooth and also enjoys teaching Rhythm and Club dances.

Edwin and Lynda began working together in 2019 as teaching partners, with Lynda specializing in American Smooth and Edwin in Latin Club Dances. Soon they discovered that their unique backgrounds and skillsets complement each other and have allowed them to grow together as partners. They are both passionate about the exploration and teaching of partner dance, and they share a deep appreciation for performing. Currently, they compete in the Professional American Smooth divisions at competitions around the country and they call Fairfax, VA their hometown. They are based out of Elegant Dancing studio but also travel to teach and perform.
