Pop up Bhangra Class!
Join us for an afternoon of the ever-popular Bhangra! This will be the first class in what we hope to be a series of choreo classes inspired by various Indian dance styles.
One of the most widely recognized Indian dance forms, Bhangra is an exuberant folk dance hailing from the state of Punjab. While traditionally performed by men during the harvest season, the style has rapidly evolved and gained international popularity. The choreography we will learn reflects the evolution of this dance style, the transition from the traditional to the modern Bhangra, a style developed in the Punjabi Diaspora, danced by both women and men to Punjabi music occasionally fused with Western melodies.
No dance experience necessary, just come and enjoy this high-energy, fun dance style! We will learn foundational movements and then a short choreographed segment. $10 for the workshop - see you there!
