Nightclub & Ballroom Dance Lessons

For building confidence and expanding your social life, nothing beats partner dance lessons. You can enjoy yourself more at events, and the added bonus is that it's a great way to get exercise and meet other fun people without effort.

Whether you simply want to avoid the "two left feet" or "no rhythm" dilemma, prepare for your wedding dance, or go all the way to performance or competition, we'll help you feel confident about dancing.

We specialize in teaching all levels of dance and have helped hundreds of couples and singles in Charlottesville learn all styles of ballroom, social dance, and theater arts. In fact, we find teaching newcomers to be one of the most rewarding aspects of partner dance instruction: on the very first lesson, students who walked in as non-dancers leave dancing!

Our studio environment is informal and relaxed so that you will not only have a better time, but you will learn more quickly. We pride ourselves on keeping it fun! In fact, we've been told that dance lessons are the highlight of many of our students' weeks. 

Open Weekly Courses

Open courses are not progressive. The technical level of the class will be maintained while every class will teach a different dance amalgamation.  Weekly students will build an extensive vocabulary, while the drop-ins can still gain knowledge from the classes and grow at their own pace.

Beginner Nightclub Salsa

Every other Sunday from 8 - 9PM, Amberlyn offers a beginner nightclub salsa lesson at Rapture on the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, VA (303 E Main St.). The class is open to EVERYONE! Ladies - $5 and Men - $8. Drop-ins are welcome!
